Case study from a recent European removal from Horncastle to Spain.
First of all, the client made an initial enquiry about a European removal from their property in Horncastle to their second home in Spain. As a result, of the telephone conversation, it was noted that it wasn’t a full move. However, there was still a considerable volume amount. We made an appointment for a pre-move survey to ascertain the removal requirements, these include the volume, packing, marine insurance, timescales and accesses to the properties.
The Quotation Process
During the pre-move survey, our surveyor asked numerous questions to determine the exact service levels required. Our Surveyor compiled a detailed inventory of effects to be moved. All the clients questions was then answered by our team. The surveyor, upon his return to the office, used these details to process an accurate quotation. The European removal quotation is tailored exactly to the client’s needs and is based on a combination of the packing required, volume of effects, loading time, shipping and unloading charges. We only offer the full packing service on European removals due to the detailed inventories required. The Office emailed the quotation promptly and the client accepted the quotation and booked a date.
The packing, export wrapping and loading were completed in one day as per our agreed schedule. The day consisted of packing all the small effects into bespoke removal cartons whilst making an inventory of the contents, once a box is full it is given a barcoded, numbered label and added to the European removal shipping inventory. Export wrapping the furniture in bubble blanket, this is a heavy-duty bubble wrap but with a felt lining to protect the furniture during transit. As each piece is wrapped it is given a bar coded, numbered label and added to the European shipping inventory. When everything was packed, it was loaded onto our vehicle and the inventory was checked to make sure everything was loaded, paperwork was sorted and signed. The vehicle then returned to our depot. The consignment was booked with one of our professional trade partners to be delivered to Spain as a ‘part load’ saving the client considerable charges. We had the consignment successfully delivered two weeks after collection.
