Case study from a recent removal into our container storage.
The client made an initial enquiry about moving from their property in Scunthorpe into our container warehouse as they hadn’t decided exactly where they wanted to move to. During the telephone conversation, we made an appointment for a pre-move survey to ascertain the removal requirements, these include the volume, packing and access to the property.
During the pre-move survey, our surveyor asked numerous questions to determine the exact service levels required. A detailed inventory of effects to be moved was taken and the clients questions answered. The surveyor, upon his return to the office, used these details to process an accurate quotation. The quotation is tailored exactly to the client’s needs and is based on a combination of factors. The packing required, vehicle size, loading time, travel time, number of storage containers needed. The client had asked for a basic removal quotation as they were completing their own packing. The quotation was promptly emailed which resulted in the client accepting the quotation.
Due to unforeseen circumstances and a couple of legal glitches, the removal was delayed several weeks, but eventually a move date was decided and booked.
This was a large but straight forward collection completed in a single day using two vehicles. Eight empty containers were loaded onto the two vehicles. two vehicles were used as the access was not good enough to get our large road-train vehicle close to the property without causing too much disruption. Our crew arrived at 8.45am, after a brief inspection room by room, loading commenced and continued until it’s completion at approx. 4.30 pm. After checking with the client that everything was loaded the crew travelled back to our depot. The full containers were unloaded by forklift and stacked inside the warehouse.The containers are currently sitting in the warehouse, safe, dry and secure while we await the client to find a new property. Once the destination is set and the date booked, the containers will be loaded via forklift truck onto the road-train , assuming access is ok, and taken for delivery.
